Picture Box Company is a boutique media production house established by Oliver Granö, Vladi Khesin and Annika Schwarz, a trio of award-winning filmmakers and entrepreneurs, that have created media and managed ventures for over a decade.
Through an international network of resources, Picture Box Co. develops, produces and distributes motion pictures and media programming through sustainable practices. With extensive industry experience and knowledge, combined with an open and inclusive environment, the best qualities and ideas can be harnessed to craft compelling visual stories that positively impacts the world.

Picture Box Co. is committed to creating a more sustainable industry, and have developed a variety of policies and procedures to help reduce the ecological footprint of our business as much as possible. From how we transport film crews to location, to what kind of plate lunch is served on and what we do with everything after its done; our decisions are made with the environment in mind.
But sustainability extends beyond the eco-friendly to encompass and cover the humanity aspects like diversity and inclusion in an open environment, as well as the ethical implication of our business and more.
To this end, we have initiated collaborations with a variety of organizations and ventures to continuously improve and develop new ways to keep our business green and sustainable, and our other production partners have been selected with care to ensure they share the same values we do.
Who we are.
Oliver Granö
Chief Executive Officer
After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with Honors, Oliver went on to obtain his Diploma from Harvard Business School. Today, he has been making films and television for over a decade, both as a Director and 1st AD. His own films have screened around the world, including at the oldest-running movie theater in the United States. At Picture Box Co., Oliver is responsible for the overall operation of the venture, and all Production Services. On his spare time, he is an avid points collector and enjoys to travel and photograph landscapes and wildlife. Something few know about him is that he has also studied Astronomy at the University of Cambridge, and has a secret love for the film Titanic.
Annika Schwarz
Chief Financial Officer
Before setting out on her global adventures, Annika studied business management at St. Gallen, one of the finest schools in Europe, and continued her education at Harvard University. When living in Los Angeles, Annika worked in the film industry before she moved to Australia to obtain her Master’s Degree in Business Analytics and Finance, at the University of Sydney. All of her training, experience and knowledge has prepared her well to manage Picture Box Co., with all that it entails. In her spare time, Annika is a professional skier and enjoys to sail, a trade she passed on in the cold and frigid North Atlantic, while coaching the Harvard Sailing Club Team. She is also known to go skydiving and enjoy the outdoors.
Vladi Khesin
Chief Media Officer
Directly after graduating college, he became the first in his class of filmmakers to get hired to direct a feature film that would end up at major film festivals such as Cannes and receive major international distribution. He has also produced a variety of other projects and productions and is now tasked with running the daily operation of the company, and all Development Services. Before he dove into the media industry, he studied Philology at the Moscow State University. While he may claim to love movies of all genres, Vladi has a secret passion for horror flicks, both to watch and to make, and truly explore the depth of human behavior. Vladi also has a passion for good food, though that’s not a secret.
Laura Bucheli Moncayo
Associate of Productions
Laura hails from Bogota, Colombia where she studied advertising and marketing in college. She earned her Masters Degree in Fine Arts from film school in Los Angeles, where she graduated with Honors. Since then, she has worked on and produced a variety of projects, from features to documentaries, television shows and reality, such as Ex on the Beach. On her spare time, she enjoys photography and often travels to remote places to capture the untouched parts of the world. She also loves big adventures, and is no stranger to long hikes, mountain climbs and skydiving. It is Laura’s responsibility to manage the Latin Americas office and put together all of our productions and projects in this region.
